Opened in 1980, the M876 motorway ( English for 'M876 motorway') is a motorway in central Scotland that branches off the M80 motorway northeast of Cumbernauld and leads to the Kincardine Bridge on the River Forth , but ends shortly before it and merges into the A876. The total length is 12.9 km. For around 1 mi it runs together with the M9 motorway , from which it separates again at Carronshore . The road bypasses the towns of Falkirk and Stenhousemuir .
