Course of the M18 motorway

The M18 motorway ( English for 'M18 motorway') is a motorway in Yorkshire , England . It begins northeast of junction 32 of the M1 at Sheffield, passes Rotherham and Doncaster and ends at junction 35 of the M62 , west of Goole. There is an intersection with the A1 Motorway at junction 2 (junction 35 of the A1 (M)). The three-lane section between Sheffield and Doncaster was opened in November 1967 and served as a feeder to the A1, as the M1 then ended in Leeds without a continuation to the north.

In the 1970s, the motorway was gradually expanded to the junction with the M62, with the opening of the last section in 1979.
