Maksaticha ( Russian Макса́тиха ) is an urban-type settlement in Tver Oblast in Russia with 8,744 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 100 km as the crow flies north of the Tver Oblast Administrative Center . It is located on the left bank of the left Volga tributary, Mologa , a little above the confluence of the Volchina .
Maksaticha is the administrative center of the Rajons Maksatichinski and seat and only town of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Possjolok Maksaticha.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1545. It took off with the construction of the originally private Rybinsk - Bologoje railway at the end of the 1860s, when a station was built there, around which a station settlement grew. In 1928 it received urban-type settlement status. On July 12, 1929 Maksaticha became the administrative seat of the newly created Rajons named after him.

Maksaticha has a train station at kilometer 186 of the Rybinsk - Bologoje - Pskov railway line, which opened in 1870 .
The regional road 28K-0034 runs through the settlement, which connects Vyshny Volotschok (about 80 km west) on the federal trunk road M10 Rossiya Moscow - Saint Petersburg with the small town of Beschezk (50 km east). To the south, the 28K-0974 branches to neighboring, some 50 km away Rajonzentrum Rameschki from where-0058 28K there are connections in the direction of Tver on.
