Quote
“... with Marguerite Blume-Cárdenas it is a question of mastering a vocation, not a favor of service. The bare essentials make your figures perfect. The unnecessary would be pathos, which she consistently renounces. Many of the works are condensed into torsos, the most condensed form of sculpture. A torso is like an idiosyncratic meter. The stone block works in the torso - remains more explicitly present. The gesture - the gesture of the whole figure - rests in the center of the stone. The overall expression takes place outside the torso, artfully and associatively planned. ” Heidrun Hegewald , October 2005
