Mark Bridges

Mark Bridges (* in the 20th century in Niagara Falls , New York ) is an American costume designer. The costumes designed by Bridges for The Artist and The Silk Thread have received multiple awards.

Life

Bridges attended Stony Brook University after graduating from high school and graduated with a bachelor's degree in theater arts . He then worked for Barbara Matera Costumes in New York City as a buyer. After finishing his work for Matera Costumes, Bridges studied costume design at New York University and graduated with a master's degree . He then worked as an assistant for various costume designers, including for Colleen Atwood in the production of The Mafiosi Bride and for Richard Hornung . From 1997 onwards, Bridges repeatedly designed costumes for films by director Paul Thomas Anderson : Boogie Nights (1997), Magnolia (1999), There Will Be Blood (2007), The Master (2012), Inherent Vice (2014) and The Silk Thread (2017) ).

In 2012, Bridges was first awarded the Oscar for " Best Costume Design " for his work on The Artist . He received his second Oscar in 2018 for The Silk Thread and another Oscar nomination in 2015 for Inherent Vice . The Artist and The Silk Thread received a BAFTA among other prizes .
