The Marquette University is a private Catholic university in Milwaukee , founded 1881st There are currently around 11,500 students enrolled. It is the largest private university in the state of Wisconsin and one of the largest private Jesuit universities in the United States. It is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities , an association of 28 Jesuit universities (→ Jesuits ).

The campus is 320,000 m² and is located in downtown Milwaukee. The college currently has 11 schools and colleges.

On campus is the St Joan of Arc Chapel , which dates back to the 15th century and has been moved to Milwaukee.

Sports

The sports teams at Marquette University are the Golden Eagles . The university is a member of the Big East Conference .
