Martino Hammerle-Bortolotti (born July 25, 1969 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian opera and concert singer with a baritone voice , arranger , music researcher and translator.

Live and act

Hammerle-Bortolotti received piano, organ and clarinet lessons as a child. From 1984 he worked at the Maria am Gestade church in Innsbruck as organist and choirmaster. In 1995 he completed a degree in business administration at the Leopold Franzens University . He studied singing at the Musikhochschule Freiburg , in Brno and with Paolo di Napoli in Florence. He has received several scholarships from the University of South Carolina for study visits to Tuscany .

In 1999 he made his debut at the Janáček Opera in Brno as Papageno in Mozart's Magic Flute and sang at the Prague State Opera . From 2000 he was a member of the South Bohemian opera in Budweis and sang such roles as Háraschta in The Cunning Little Vixen by Janáček , Gaudenzio in Rossini's opera Signor Il Bruschino and Budivoj in the opera Dalibor by Smetana .

With the chamber music ensemble Camerata Brunae , he dedicates himself to maintaining early music . With the instrumental ensemble I Solisti della Scala and the Orchestra Filarmonica Europea , with whom he works regularly, he appeared in 2010 with a Mozart program, including in the Zurich Tonhalle . He has also given concerts with the South Westphalia Philharmonic , the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc , the Brno Philharmonic Choir and choirs such as Coro Bach di Milano and Melodie Jihlava as well as numerous other concert choirs and children's choirs. He sang at the Rossini Festival Wildbad , was invited to the Festival Della Canzone Italiana in Belgio in Brussels in 2011 and toured Moravia with the Moravian Piano Trio .

He performed solo evenings in various cities in Austria, Italy , the Czech Republic , Slovakia , there also at the music summer in Nitra and in Poland as part of the music festival in Giżycko . He sang in concerts and solo recitals also on numerous palaces like Bojnice castle , Hluboká , Kynžvart Chateau , Castle Valtice , Castle Seisenegg , Wilfersdorf Castle and Castle Zeillern In Vienna he performed among others in the marble hall of the Belvedere Palace , the Baroque Hall of the Old Town Hall , in Lehár-Schikaneder-Schlössl , in the Italian Cultural Institute and in the District Museum Vienna-Josefstadt. He also performed in the residence of the Austrian ambassador in Prague, as well as in churches such as the Innsbruck church Maria am Gestade , the basilica of Rajhrad and in Stift Rein and Stift Klosterneuburg .

Hammerle-Bortolotti has lived in Brno since 1995 and alternately in Vienna and Florence.

Work as an arranger

On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birthday of Empress Maria Theresa in 2017, Hammerle-Bortolotti arranged the first part of the Maria Theresa hymn book for baritone and wind quintet. The 24 songs were performed at a memorial concert as part of the Napoleonic Days 2017 at Austerlitz Castle and at the “Audience with Emperor Karl I ” festival in Brandeis on the Elbe .

He also edited the sheet music for parts of the forgotten opera The Templars in Moravia by Karel Šebor , which were presented to the audience in 2018 at a concert in the Castle Riding Hall in Valtice . In 2019 he wrote completely new and digitized orchestral material for the opera Hedy by Zdeněk Fibich for the Czech theater agency Dilia .

repertoire

Hammerle-Bortolotti's operatic repertoire includes works by Mozart and classical bel canto as well as works by Puccini , Leoncavallo , Verdi and Wagner . Since the 2010s he has concentrated on opera arias by Giuseppe Verdi and the Czech composer Zdeněk Fibich .
