Matthias Joseph Weber (born March 7, 1961 in Bollschweil near Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German composer .

Life

Matthias Weber studied music, English and German at the Freiburg University of Education . A Fulbright scholarship enabled him to study composition and film music at Berklee College of Music in Boston and then at the University of Southern California . He has lived and worked in Los Angeles ever since, writing music for both American and European films. Initially, he worked in collaboration with well-known composers such as Cory Lerios and John D'Andrea , Hans Zimmer and Trevor Jones on international productions such as Pearl Harbor , The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and, on US television, on hit series such as The Sopranos and Baywatch . Lately he has mainly been busy with Austrian and German productions such as The Visit of the Old Lady , The Miracle of Carinthia and Mein bester Feind .
