Maxence Parrot (born June 6, 1994 in Cowansville ) is a Canadian snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Parrot has been taking part in competitions on the TTR World Snowboard Tour and the FIS World Cup since 2011 . His first win on the World Snowboard Tour was at the beginning of the 2011/12 season in the Big Air competition at the New Zealand Winter Games in Cardrona . He also took third place there in slopestyle. In October 2011 he drove his first FIS World Cup race in London , which he finished in 14th place in Big Air. He took his first podium in the World Cup in February 2012 in Stoneham with third place in slopestyle. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he finished third in slopestyle at The Mile High in Thredbo and second at Stylewars in Falls Creek . In January 2013 he won the Big Air competition at the O'Neill Evolution in Davos . At the Winter X Games 2013 he won silver in slopestyle. A month later he came third in the Big Air competition at the BGV Russian Grand Prix in Moscow . In March 2013, he finished second in slopestyle at the last FIS World Cup race of the season in Sierra Nevada, Spain . He won the Big Air competition at The Shred Show in Whistler . He finished the season in ninth place in the overall tour ranking and fifth in the FIS freestyle overall ranking. At the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge , he took third place in slopestyle. In January 2014 he won slopestyle at the Snowboard Jamboree in Stoneham . This was also a World Cup race and thus his first World Cup victory. At the Winter X Games 2014 , he won gold in the slopestyle and gold in the big air competition. This season, further victories at the Toyota Big Air in Sapporo , the Showcase Showdown in Whistler in slopestyle and the Big Air event Ride Shakedown on Mont Saint Sauveur followed . At the Burton US Open, he was third in slopestyle. In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he finished fifth in slopestyle. He finished the season in sixth place in the overall tour standings, second place in the slopestyle standings and first place in the big air standings. In the FIS World Cup he reached second place in the slopestyle ranking.

In the 2014/15 season, Parrot took third place in slopestyle at The Shred Show in Blackcomb and first place in big air at the Ale Invite in Ale . At the Winter X Games 2015 he won silver in the Big Air competition. At the beginning of the following season he won the Air & Style in Beijing . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , he won the gold medal in the Big Air competition. In February 2016 he won the US Grand Prix of Snowboarding and World Cup in Boston and the Jamboree and World Cup in Québec . At the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo , he won the silver medal in Big Air. In the same month he finished tenth at Air & Style in Innsbruck and ninth in Los Angeles , making it second in the overall Air & Style ranking. At the 2016 Snowboard World Championships in Yabuli , he won the silver medal in slopestyle and was seventh in Big Air. At the end of March 2016 he won the slopestyle at the Grandvalira Total Fight in Grandvalira and won the Big Air World Cup at the end of the season. He also finished third in the Freestyle World Cup.

After finishing 25th at the Air & Style in Beijing at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Parrot took second place in Big Air at the World Cup at the Alpensia Resort and in slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge . He also won Big Air at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and World Cup in Mammoth and in Slopestyle at the Laax Open 2017 and World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2017 in Aspen , he won the gold medal in Big Air and also achieved fifth place in Slopestyle. In February 2017 he triumphed at the Air & Style in Innsbruck and Los Angeles and thus achieved second place in the Air & Style overall ranking . In the same month he finished second in slopestyle at the Banana Open in Jilin and in big air at the World Cup in Québec . At the X-Games Norway 2017 in Hafjell , he won the silver medal in Big Air. He also took seventh place there in slopestyle. He finished the season in second place in the Freestyle World Cup and in the Big Air World Cup. In the 2017/18 season he won the Slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, the World Cup in Québec and the World Ski & Snowboard Festival in Whistler in Big Air and thus achieved 12th place in the Freestyle World Cup and fourth place in the Big Air World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2018 , he won the gold medal in Big Air and finished 11th in Slopestyle. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he won the silver medal in the slopestyle snowboarding competition . He finished ninth in the big air competition. In May 2018 he won fifth place in Big Air at the X-Games Norway in Fornebu . At the X-Games Norway 2019 he won the gold medal in Big Air. In the 2019/20 season he won the Big Air World Cup in Beijing and won the gold medal in Big Air at the Winter X Games 2020 and the silver medal in Big Air and the gold medal in Slopestyle at the X Games Norway 2020 .
