The place is in the southwest of Engelskirchen on the border with the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . Neighboring towns are Forkscheid , Ehreshoven with the Ehreshoven and at the city of Overath belonging Obermiebach . The Pühlensiefen flows past the village and flows into the Ehreshoven II reservoir west of the village .

Around 1280 the place was first mentioned under the name "Meisenbuchel" in an income directory of the Siegburg Abbey.
