Rennbruch is a town in Engelskirchen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .

Location and description

The place is in the northeast of Engelskirchen in the valley of the Leppe . In the northeast of the village the Gelpe flows into the Leppe. Neighboring towns are Neuremscheid , paper mill , Bickenbach , Hahn and the city of Gummersbach belonging Flaberg .

The topographical maps show the names “Rennbrucher Hammer” and “Haus Rennbruch” in Rennbruch in 2012.

In the Prussian first recording from 1840, a mill symbol is recorded in the Rennbruch area. There is no place name on this map. In the topographic map from 1894 to 1896, next to the mill symbol, a building floor plan and the abbreviation for an iron hammer are shown. On the map from 1927, a factory with the name “Rennbrucher Hammer” is recorded. A building floor plan has been added to the western outskirts. Its name is "Rennbruch House".

The factory buildings located on the site of the former iron hammer labeled Rennbrucher Hammer have been closed. This is where the "Zapp Flanschenfabrik GmbH", founded as a family company in 1897, produced drop forged parts until bankruptcy in 2009.

Haus Rennbruch is a privately owned and former entrepreneur's villa built in 1910. The house was built in half-timbered construction and has 11 rooms with a total of around 400 square meters. The house was known in the area for its well-tended white gravel paths in the surrounding park.
