Osberghausen is a district of the municipality Engelskirchen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany .

Location and description

The place is about 7.8 kilometers east of Engelskirchen an der Agger and the federal road 55 .

history

In 1336 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document: “The Cologne St. Gereonsstift has income from various goods in the parish of Ründeroth, u. a. in Oisbondinchusen. ”The spelling of the first mention was Oisbondinchusen .

In 1954 a Protestant church was built in Osberghausen. It offered space for 200 believers. A parsonage belonged to the church and, since 1981, also a parish hall. In 2007 the church was deedicated. Since that date the church and rectory have been empty. In September 2010 the church building was sold to the Engelskirchen entrepreneur Gerd Lony. In 1999 the Protestant parish of Osberghausen was reintegrated into the Ründeroth district from which it was originally formed.

railroad

The Siegburg – Olpe (Aggertalbahn) railway runs through Osberghausen . The line used to have a freight and passenger station here, but it is no longer served by the RB 25 Oberbergische Bahn . It was particularly important as a freight yard at Dieringhausen station. In Osberghausen, the Wiehltalbahn to Waldbröl still branches off from the Aggertalbahn. A loading ramp is ready for use in their Osberghausen station, and today you can board the tourist trains of the Wiehl Valley Railway at the rebuilt platform. However, the platform is not located at the old station building, but was created closer to the location in the area of the gas station area. The Wiehltalbahn trains run on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month and on special occasions.
