Location and description

The place is on the southwestern outskirts of Engelskirchen in the valley of the Agger . Neighboring towns are Obersteeg , Albertsthal and Engelskirchen.

history

In 1413 the combing register for Fronhof Lindlar names the place with the place name "Stege". In the map of the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 and on the Prussian first survey of 1845, the place is recorded with a delimited courtyard, but without the place name. From the official topographic map from 1896 the place name Steeg is used.
