The place is located on a mountain slope above the lower reaches of the Gelpe, which flows into the Leppe, in the northwestern tip of the municipality, just under 10 km from its center.

The place was first mentioned in 1542 when a resident of the Vladberge was listed in the Turkish tax list .

The hamlet of Flaberg belonged to the imperial rule of Gimborn-Neustadt until 1806 .
