Location of Rebbelroth in Gummersbach

Rebbelroth is a district of the city of Gummersbach in the Oberbergisches Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Rebbelroth is located on the federal road 55 between Niederseßmar and Derschlag and is approx. 4.8 km from the city center.

history

In 1447 the place was mentioned for the first time in the accounts of the Sayn-Homburg rentmaster Johann van Flamersfelt as "Reblegerode".

The village of Rebbelroth belonged to the imperial rule of Gimborn-Neustadt until 1806 . After belonging to the Grand Duchy of Berg (1806-1813) and a provisional transitional administration , the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 on the basis of the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna . Under the Prussian administration, the place first belonged to the Gimborn district (1816–1825) and then to the Gummersbach district in the Rhine Province . In 1843 the village had 257 inhabitants, all of whom were Protestants, and 47 houses; there was a school in town.

traffic

The federal road 55 runs through Rebbelroth, which is combined with the federal road 256 in this section . - Follow this road (Kölnerstraße) bus number 301 runs Gummersbach Bergneustadt - Olpe the OVAG . (Stops: Rebbelroth, Autohaus Ley) It replaces the former Siegburg – Olpe railway line , whose passenger trains only stopped in Rebbelroth until 1921, as the tram ( Gummersbacher Kleinbahnen ), which had also been shut down in the 1950s, was better served. The main reason for this was that the breakpoint was relatively off the beaten track and was only really practical for workers from a single company. In contrast, the tram ran on the old route through the middle of the village. The state railway station building still stands today and is privately owned.
