Deitenbach is a district of Gummersbach in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .
geography
Deitenbach is located almost halfway between the city centers of Gummersbach (distance approx. 9.5 km) and Meinerzhagen (approx. 8 km) and is affected by Landstrasse 323, the main connection between the two district towns. The place climbs a foothill of the Unnenberg north above the reservoir of the Aggertalsperre .
history
Deitenbach means nothing else than Tiefenbach . In dialect , Deipenbecke or Deipenbach would result. But here we have a derivation from the noun deite depth.
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1473: Clas van Deypenbeck is mentioned among the court owners in the license of the Stilkinger feudal court .
Part of the village fell victim to the construction of the Aggertalsperre in 1927/1928, as did the residential and farm buildings in the neighboring village of Bruch.
Economy and industry
In the upper part of the village is Haus Aggertal , one of the largest nursing homes in the region with over 100 beds; Down at the L 323 a maxillofacial day clinic opened in 2005.
Culture
In Deitenbach, the Lower Rhine Football Association maintains a rest home and leisure camp.
