Mike Prestwood Smith

Mike Prestwood Smith (also Michael Prestwood Smith ) is a sound engineer who has worked in over 100 film and television productions since his career began in the mid-1990s. At the 2014 Academy Awards , he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Sound category for his work with Captain Phillips along with Chris Burdon , Mark Taylor and Chris Munro . He has also been nominated for seven British Academy Film Awards for Best Sound , one of which he won in 2007. Smith initially worked as a band musician and music producer before moving to sound engineering in London , including at De Lane Lea Studios . He now lives in Los Angeles and works for Warner Bros. Studios .
