Mnogowerschinny ( Russian Многоверши́нный ) is an urban-type settlement in the Khabarovsk region ( Russia ) with 2324 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 700 km as the crow flies north-northeast of the regional administrative center of Khabarovsk in a low mountain range below the 1097 m high mountain Oryol, about 20 km from the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk . It is located on the upper reaches of the Lewy Ul (Left Ul), the source of the Amur tributary Ul.
Mnogowerschinny belongs to Nikolayevsky Rajon and is about 100 km to the northwest from its administrative seat Nikolayevsk on the Amur . It is the seat and only locality of the municipality Rabotschi possjolok Mnogowerschinny.
history
The village was founded in 1963 in connection with the development of the Mnogowerschinnoje gold deposit, discovered in 1959 , and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1974. The name is derived from the Russian mnogo vershin for many peaks .
Large-scale gold mining only began around 1990 and then after a crisis in the 1990s when the multinational Highland Gold Mining Ltd. took over operations . 1998. Since then, gold production has grown from 1.5 tons in 1999 to 4.5 tons in 2011; Ores with a total gold content of over 35 tons have so far been forecast and for the most part explored.

A street leads to Mnogowerschinny from Nikolayevsk on the Amur, which in turn is only connected to the all-Russian road network via the Amur or by sea.
