Sawety Iljitscha ( Russian Заве́ты Ильича́ ) is an urban-type settlement in the Khabarovsk region ( Russia ) with 9,162 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The settlement is located about 380 km as the crow flies east of the regional capital Khabarovsk on the north bank of the Bay Sovetskaya Gawan ("Soviet port") of the Tatar Sound , the strait between the Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhotsk .
Savety Ilyicha belongs to the district of Sovetsko-Gawanski and is located about 7 km north of the district center of Sovetskaya Gawan on the other side of the bay .
history
The place was founded as Novoastrachanskoje in the early 1920s. As a result, it was renamed Savety Ilyicha, Russian for Ilyich's legacy in relation to the revolutionary leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin , a phrase that was often used for propaganda purposes in the Soviet Union and was also used several times as a place name. From its elevation to the city in 1941, Sawety Ilyicha was part of Sovetskaya Gawan.
From the opening of the Postovaya military airfield west of the town center in 1943, Savety Ilyicha also became the location of the Soviet Army ; later facilities of the Pacific Fleet , such as coastal defense batteries, were built .
In 1960 the place received the status of an independent urban-type settlement.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are timber and fishing industries in the settlement.
The railway line from Komsomolsk am Amur to Sovetskaya Gawan , built in the 1940s, runs north of the village, and the nearest train station is located three kilometers from the village at the Oktyabrsky settlement .
The Postovaya military airfield has not been actively used since the 1990s, but is still maintained as a reserve.
