Tyrma ( Russian Тырма ) is an urban-type settlement in the Khabarovsk region ( Russia ) with 1933 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 270 km as the crow flies northwest of the regional administrative center of Khabarovsk in the mountains southwest of the Bureja Mountains . It is located to the left of the Sutyr River, a little above its confluence with the left Bureja tributary, Tyrma .
Tyrma belongs to the Verkhnebureinski Rajon and is about 140 km south-southwest from its administrative seat Tschegdomyn . It is the seat of the municipality of Tyrminskoje gorodskoje posselenije, to which, in addition to the settlement of Tyrma, the station settlements Echilkan, Simowje, Talandscha and Tarakelok as well as Kasarma 142 km belong.
history
The place was founded around 1940 in connection with the construction of the Izvestkowaja - Tschegdomyn railway line and was named after the river. Tyrma has had urban-type settlement status since 1949.

Tyrma is located at kilometer 169 of the railway line from Iswestkowy (Statiun Iswestkowaja ) on the Trans-Siberian Railway via Novy Urgal on the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) to Tschegdomyn.
There is no paved connection to the Russian road network that is passable all year round.
