Moriez is a French municipality with 238 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castellane and the Canton of Castellane . The residents call themselves Moriézois .

1178 hectares of the community are forested. In addition to the main settlement, Moriez also includes the districts of Le Castellet, Hyèges and Les Chaillans. Moriez is located on the Asse de Moriez river , on Route nationale 202 and the meter-gauge railway line Nice – Digne-les-Bains . The neighboring communities are Lambruisse in the north, Saint-André-les-Alpes in the east and south, Senez in the south-west, Barrême and Saint-Lions in the west and Clumanc in the north-west.
