NGC 4069 is a galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Coma Berenices. It is estimated to be 341 million light years from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 27, 1785 . However, there is doubt as to whether the identification of PGC 38166 as NGC 4069 in the revised RNGC is correct because the galaxy is just closest to the wrong position and does not have an NGC number. For this entry, the correct identification of NGC 4069 should be considered "lost or absent".
