NGC 4055 = NGC 4061 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is an estimated 320 million light years from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 27, 1785 .
