The 1959/60 season was the 22nd regular staging of the National League A , the highest Swiss league in ice hockey . For the 23rd time in the club's history, HC Davos became Swiss champions, while EHC Arosa was relegated to the NLB.

mode

As in the previous year, the league was played in a common main round. Each of the eight teams played back and forth against each group opponent, making the total number of games per team 14. The first in the table became Swiss champions, while the bottom of the table had to compete against the best second division team in the relegation to avoid relegation. Each team received two points for a win and one point for a tie. If you lost, you didn't get any points.

Relegation

As in the previous year, EHC Arosa had to be relegated and met the best second division club, EHC Visp, to which he lost 4-6, which meant that EHC Arosa was relegated to the NLB and EHC Visp took its place in the NLA.
