Natoya Goule (born March 30, 1991 in Manchester Parish ) is a Jamaican athlete who specializes in the 800-meter run .

Athletic career

Natoya Goule gained her first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2005 in Bacolet , where she celebrated a double victory over 800 and 1500 meters. Also at the CARIFTA Games the following year in Les Abymes won in these disciplines as well as with the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay, as well as at the Pan American Junior Championships in Port of Spain afterwards. She also won two gold medals at the CARIFTA Games in Providenciales and qualified for the Youth World Championships in Ostrava , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with a time of 2: 08.37 minutes. In 2008 she celebrated another double victory at the CARIFTA Games in Basseterre . Then she retired at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz over 800 meters and with the Jamaican relay in the first round. In 2009 and 2010 she again celebrated winning three gold medals. In 2010 she won the CAC Junior Championships in Santo Domingo in 2: 07.20 minutes . She then won the bronze medal with the relay at the Junior World Championships in Moncton in 3: 32.24 min and was eliminated in the semifinals over 800 meters with 2: 05.07 min.

In 2011 she won the bronze medal over 800 meters at the CAC championships in Mayagüez in 2: 02.83 minutes and won the relay competition in 3: 29.86 minutes. Two years later she won the championships in Morelia in 2: 02.02 min and was disqualified with the relay. In addition, she qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated with 2: 00.93 min in the preliminary round. At the World Indoor Championships in Sopot she was sixth in 2: 01.89 min and won the silver medal with the relay, although she was only used in the preliminary run. At the IAAF World Relays 2014 in the Bahamas , she finished fifth with the 4 x 800 meter relay in 8: 17.22 min. At the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow she was eliminated with 2: 04.23 minutes in the semifinals. The following year she qualified again for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated with 2: 02.37 minutes in the lead . Also at the World Indoor Championships in Portland , she was eliminated with 2: 08.23 min in the preliminary round. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she also failed to qualify for the next round with 2: 00.49 min .

In 2017 at the World Championships in London with a time of 2: 01.77 min, the first round also took place , as was the case at the Indoor World Championships in Birmingham 2018 with 2: 02.49 min. In the outdoor season she rose to the top of the world. First she won the bronze medal in 1: 58.82 min at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast in April . At the Diamond League meeting in Monaco , she improved the Jamaican record to 1: 56.15 minutes. Then she won the silver medal behind the American Ajeé Wilson at the NACAC championships in Toronto in 1: 57.95 minutes . During the season she stayed under the 2-minute mark ten times and increased her personal best by over three seconds. At the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019 , she won gold over 800 meters in 2: 01.26 minutes and the bronze medal behind the United States and Canada in 3: 27.61 minutes in the Jamaican 4-by-400-meter relay. At the world championships in Doha over 800 meters to the final , in which she finished sixth in 2: 00.11 min.

Between 2013 and 2019, Goule secured the Jamaican championship title in the 800-meter run every year. She graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina with a degree in communications .
