In the west of the municipality, in the Flüeggen Forest, the hilly pre-alpine area typical of the Willisau district rises , so that Nebikon is dominated by hills in the west and east.

history

Aerial photo (1957)

Under the name Nevinchova , the place is mentioned for the first time in the list of goods (toboggan) of the Fraumünster Abbey in Zurich in 893. The Habsburgs took over rule in the late 12th century. The place was administered by the Lords of Büttikon . The rulership changed in 1415. The city of Lucerne bought the county of Willisau - to which Nebikon belonged - and made it the Landvogtei Willisau . In 1424 the Lucerne population also acquired the majority of the lower jurisdiction. The situation remained like this until 1798. For the following five years, Nebikon belonged to the Altishofen district - since then to the then newly created Willisau Office .
