occupation

New Kids Nitro is a Dutch motion picture based on the television series New Kids and is the follow-up to the 2010 film New Kids Turbo . The film was produced by Eyeworks and distributed in Germany by Constantin Film .

action

The five “New Kids”, Richard, Robbie, Rikkert, Barrie and Gerrie, from the Dutch village of Maaskantje clash with a group of fans of the visiting team from the neighboring town of Schijndel during a football game from their village club . The conflict continues for more than the first half of the film and is fought out in various fights, car races, revenge and retaliation, in which Deborah, the heavily pregnant, permanently drunk friend of the Schijndel leader, with whom Rikkert falls in love, is repeatedly involved . In the course of the conflict, the high levels of property damage and personal injury typical of the series and the previous film arise. The local police in particular lost several of their vehicles and the village policeman lost his job in the course of the clashes.

Later, with the support of the group from Schijndel, the New Kids fight against a zombie threat (similar to the film Shaun of the Dead ) that has spread after a meteorite strike in the province of Friesland in the north of the Netherlands. Cows had previously licked the meteorite; as a result, her milk production had increased explosively. The excess milk was distributed to the population. Whoever drank it became a zombie, only driven to bite those who were not yet infected and spread the epidemic further. The New Kids are meanwhile in custody after being arrested during a car race with the Schijndelers. The initially inactive Ministry of Defense decides to send the five boys from Maaskantje to Friesland to fight the zombies. They are released, but flee immediately because they fear that D'n will do something to Dave Richard's mother. They find Richard's mother's trailer devastated, but they find themselves intact. Richard gives her a trip to the Frisian island of Ameland to keep her safe . When they learn that Richard's mother was attacked by the zombies at the Ameland ferry terminal, they have her buried in absentia. When a good singer and friend of the New Kids, Ronnie, who is the funeral speaker here, tells Richard that his father is from Schijndel, he decides to go to Friesland, destroy the zombies and bring his mother's body home. He is accompanied by the other New Kids, including D'n Dave, the snack bar Henk, the red-haired "Mongo" (a disabled man with Down syndrome ) from the series and a group of young Arab migrants from the Eindhoven suburb of Woensel and more or less supported. They all set out for Friesland with plenty of weapons. On the way they learn that the government has since refused the promised reward and forbids them to go to Friesland. You do it anyway and first fight a larger group of zombies through excessive use of firearms. However, they run out of ammunition and have to flee. Your next destination is the ferry port to Ameland, where Richard finds his mother as a zombie and cuts off her head. In the meantime, the new kids are surrounded by the zombies. To resolve the conflict, the New Kids agree to a car race with the zombies, which the New Kids win when the disabled man shoots the opposing car from two machine guns mounted on the car. The "surviving" zombies are brought into freight cars and transported away, the scenery is very reminiscent of the deportation of Jews under the German Nazi regime. In the final scene, Rikkert shoots the leader of the Schijndelers and ends up with Deborah. The “New Kids” now receive the Order of the Queen from the government and above all the originally promised reward: They never have to work again and are assigned prostitutes free of charge. Rikkert then separates from Deborah again. The big closing party begins for the title song of the film "Fuck whores, never work again" ( Dutch Hoeren Neuken Nooit Meer Werken ).

synchronization

The German dubbing voices of the five main actors are, as always, spoken by the actors themselves with a coarse Dutch accent and thus reinforce the comical-proletarian effect of the characters, while all the other actors are dubbed by other people who speak Standard German.

Stefan Geisler from Filmstarts is of the opinion that the film is "a flat series of well-known running gags". "With" New Kids Nitro "the directing duo is now starting where it left off with its predecessor and deliberately exceeding the limits of good taste." Geisler, however, praises the exaggerated switch to the zombie genre, which is achieved through successful special effects convince knows: “After all, the approaching zombie invasion provides some momentum and variety in the dusty Maaskantje setting.” Geisler's conclusion is: “The new kids strike again:“ New Kids Nitro ”is a protracted gag parade full of late-pubescent rumors , debilitating dialogues and targeted attacks on good taste. The fans will be thrilled. "

The editorial team of Cinema writes that the "amazingly high-quality splatter- ulk is reminiscent of" Shaun of the Dead ", otherwise the makers consistently violate all possible morals and good manners with their blatant joke," but "[o] hne …] To raise or make fun of the chubby staff ”. The assessment, "[how much satirical brain] this insane mix of" Three Stooges "," Flodder "and the cocktail of blood, sweat and semen" is supposed to be "left to everyone", the film nevertheless has "one certain - albeit coarse - cordiality ”. The conclusion: "As tasteless, politically incorrect and funny as the first film."

According to the lexicon of the international film, a “rough, calculated trashy number revue of comic-like exaggerated excesses”, which “ends in a splatter finale in the last third, in which the protagonists slaughter each other by flocks of zombies”.
