With the III. At the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis , six archery competitions were held from September 19 to 21, three each for men and women. The venue was the infield of the Francis Field Stadium .
Only US-Americans took part, which meant that for a long time there were doubts as to whether these competitions were at all Olympic or just national championships. The former is supported by the fact that in theory foreigners could also have participated and only amateurs were allowed. The six participants were all the wives of male participants.
