Finland participated in the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix with a delegation of 13 athletes in 3 sports. The Finnish NOK had registered 14 athletes for the games, of which 13 took part in competitions. The members of the military patrol do not count as official Olympic participants. A total of 2 athletes took part in the Olympic Games for the second time:
- Ludowika Jakobsson (1920 figure skating)
- Walter Jakobsson (1920 figure skating)
Results: With 11 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) the Finns were the second best nation. There was also a German on the Olympic team. The Berliner Ludowika Jakobsson , née Eilers, started with her Finnish husband Walter Jakobsson as defending champion in 1920 in pair skating and won her second Olympic medal with silver. The speed skater Clas Thunberg , also affectionately known as "Nurmi des Eises", won 5 medals alone (gold over 1,500 m, 5,000 m and in all-around, silver over 10,000 m and bronze over the 500 m distance) and was not only ice skating King, but also the most successful athlete at the Winter Games. Other medal collectors of the Finnish team were the speed skater Julius Skutnabb (gold over 10,000 m, silver over 5,000 m and bronze in the all- around event) , the cross-country skier Tapani Niku (bronze in 18 km cross-country skiing) and the military patrol of Captain Väinö Bremer (silver). Since the 30 km military patrol run was a demonstration competition , the silver medal does not appear in the official medal ranking.
