Hungary took part in the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix with a delegation of 4 athletes in 1 sport. The Hungarian NOK reported 13 athletes to the games, 4 of whom were participating in competitions. An athlete took part in the Olympic Games for the second time:

Balance: As with the Austrians , Hungary's participation in the Winter Games caused some unrest in the ranks of athletes and officials. After all, the country, in association with Austria and Germany, was considered the warmonger of the First World War . While Austria and Hungary were invited to the Games of the VIII Olympiad in Paris and Chamonix in 1924, the French denied Germany participation. Hungary would have had a good chance of a medal in figure skating. But the registered old master Andor Szende (third place in the World Championships in 1910 , 1912 and 1913 as well as Vice European Champion in 1913) did not come. Even Opika von Méray Horváth , figure skating world champion from 1913 and 1914 , did not feel any particular interest in participating in the Olympic Games and had not even accepted it. The registered bobsleigh team did not arrive either, so that in the end only four skiers were supposed to represent the young republic. Among them are two athletes. István Déván took part in the 200 m run in Stockholm in 1912 and Béla Szepes was four years later at the IX. 1928 Olympics win bronze in javelin throwing. Here in Chamonix, the Hungarians don't stand a chance and always find themselves at the bottom of the field, if they finish the competitions at all.
