Otto Gebhard (born February 13, 1703 in Regensburg ; † March 8, 1773 ibid) was a painter of the Bavarian Rococo .

biography

Otto Gebhard was the oldest son and student of the painter Johann Gebhard . As a painter and fresco artist , he was mainly active in Regensburg and its wider surroundings ( Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate ). It is controversial whether the works signed with "JO Gebhard (t)" can be ascribed to his father alone ( JO as an abbreviation for Jo [hann] ) or whether they should identify the works in question as being carried out jointly by father Johann and son Otto. Like the other members of the Gebhard family of painters, Otto was buried in the Dech Betten cemetery (now a district of Regensburg), where the tombs have been preserved to this day.
