Georg Pauli-Stravius
Georg Pauli-Stravius (born October 10, 1593 in Kuttekoven near Borgloon, † February 7, 1661 in Cologne ) was auxiliary bishop in Cologne.
Life
Pauli-Stravius, who came from the Principality of Liège and was sometimes called Pauvels-Strauven, studied philosophy and theology in Rome , where he also received the title of Apostolic Protonotary . Then head of the Nunciature Chancellery in Brussels , he became canon to St. Ursula in Cologne in 1626 . Also canon here since 1633 , he was appointed titular bishop of Joppe and auxiliary bishop in Cologne on March 26, 1640 , as well as vicar general of the archbishop of Cologne . He received his episcopal ordination in Bonn on February 17, 1641 from the Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück , Franz Wilhelm von Wartenberg .
His older brother Richard Pauli-Stravius was auxiliary bishop in Liège from 1641 , according to other information in Cologne.
Georg Pauli-Stravius was buried in Cologne Cathedral .
