Petter Granberg (born August 27, 1992 in Gällivare ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Skellefteå AIK in the Svenska Hockeyligan since May 2018 .
Career
Petter Granberg began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Skellefteå AIK , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2009/10 season . In his only mission, the defender remained unpunished. Following this season, the Swedish junior international was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2010 in the fourth round as a total of 116 players by the Toronto Maple Leafs .
In the 2013/14 season, the Swede made his NHL debut for the Maple Leafs, but remains an integral part of the AHL squad. In the summer of 2015, he underwent an Achilles tendon operation and was initially out before he was signed by the Nashville Predators via the waiver in November 2015 .
In the 2017/18 season he was only used by the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL. He then decided to return to Europe and signed a three-year contract with his home club.
International
For Sweden , Granberg took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2010 , where he and his team were runner-up. At the 2013 World Cup in Stockholm and Helsinki , he was part of the men's national team and won the gold medal with it. He was also part of Sweden's squad at the 2015 World Cup .
