Pishchanka ( Ukrainian Піщанка ; Russian Песчанка Pestschanka , Polish Pieszczana ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine with about 5200 inhabitants (2014) and the administrative center of the Rajon of the same name .
Pishchanka is located in the southeast of Vinnytsia Oblast , 153 km south of the Vinnytsia oblast center and 10 km northeast of the border with Transnistria . In addition to Pishchanka, the settlement Trudowe ( Трудове ) with almost 500 inhabitants belongs to the settlement council .
The village was first mentioned in 1734 and in 1956 was given the status of an urban-type settlement.
