Wapnjarka (Ukrainian and Russian Вапнярка ) is an urban-type settlement in Vinnytsia Oblast . Its name derives from the northwest village Wapnjarky from (Вапнярки).
The place was created during the construction of the railway from Schmerynka to Podilsk at the end of the 1860s, officially it has existed since the opening of a railway station on today's Krasne – Odessa railway line , and since 1938 it has had the status of an urban-type settlement.
During the Second World War the place was attached to Romania, what is now Greater Romania set up a large concentration camp near the place.
From 1923 to 1999 there was also a narrow-gauge railway line from the village to Jampil in the west ; this line has now largely been dismantled.
