Lityn ( Ukrainian Літин ; Russian Литин Litin ) is an urban-type in the northwest of the Ukrainian oblast Winnyzja with about 6700 inhabitants (2018) and the administrative center of the same Rayon .

Lityn is located on the Shar ( Ukrainian Згар ), a tributary of the Southern Bug about 30 km northwest of the Vinnytsia Oblast center .

The town, founded in 1431, was granted Magdeburg law in 1578 . Lityn has had urban-type settlement status since 1924.

The M 12 / E 50 road runs through the village .

Lityn is the administrative seat of Lityn Raion, founded in 1923, in the northwest of Vinnytsia Oblast. The Rajon has an area of ​​960 km² and about 36,000 inhabitants. The population density is 38 inhabitants per km².
