Pokrowka ( Russian Покро́вка ) is a village (selo) in the Primorye region ( Russia ) with 10,360 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The settlement is about 100 km as the crow flies north-north-west of the regional capital Vladivostok and 30 km north-west of Ussuriysk on the left bank of the Rasdolnaya River (in the upper reaches of the People's Republic of China : Suifun ).
Pokrovka is the administrative center of the Rajons Oktyabrsky .
history
The village was founded in 1880 by resettlers from what is now Ukraine and the Orenburg governorate . The first church was built in 1886, as the village was named after the Orthodox holiday Protection and Intercession of the Holy Mother of God , in Russian Pokrov .
As part of an administrative reform, Pokrovka became the administrative center of a Rajon on January 4, 1926, which was initially named after the place and was named after the politician Vyacheslav Molotov Molotovsky from 1935 to 1957 , before it was given its current name - after the October Revolution in 1917.

Economy and Infrastructure
Pokrowka is the center of an agricultural area with the cultivation of grain, feed, soy, potatoes and vegetables as well as cattle breeding. There are building material companies in the Rajon.
The nearest train station is in the village of Galjonki, about 20 km northeast of the village on the route that runs from Ussuriysk on the Trans-Siberian Railway via Pogranichny ( Grodekowo station ) to China. The Ussuriysk ( M60 ) –China connection also serves the regional road A184 , from which the A187 branches off in Galjonki and leads up the left Rasdolnaya bank via Pokrovka to the border village of Novogeorgiyevka.
