history

Surname

Until May 2004 it was known as The Ballpark in Arlington . From May 2004 to March 2007 the company Ameriquest held the sponsor name , which is why it was called Ameriquest Field in Arlington at that time . But despite the changed name, most fans continued to simply call the stadium “The Ballpark” or “The Temple”. Prior to the 2014 season, the Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company gave its name to the stadium, which has since been officially called "Globe Life Park in Arlington".

New building

At a press conference in May 2016, the Texas Rangers announced that they were planning a new stadium with a roof that could be closed. The cost of construction will amount to 950 million euros, which will be shared by the Rangers and the Arlington Parish. Globe Life Park will be partially preserved and converted into an entertainment complex with restaurants, retail stores and office space. Construction began in 2017 and was completed by the 2020 season.
