from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reinhold Ebeling (born before 1899 ; died after 1938 ) was a German church and decoration painter, restorer and curator of art monuments .

Life

In 1914 Ebeling restored the panel painting of the Marien Altar in the church of Neu-Berich

Reinhold Ebeling was a student of the painter and interior designer Hermann Schaper in the 19th century .

For the first time in 1899 Ebeling was listed in the address book, city and business manual of the royal capital and residence city of Hanover and the city of Linden as a church and decorative painter with residence at Aegidiendamm 4 . From 1901 and continuously until 1938 Ebeling was registered at Wiesenstrasse 64 as a painter without specifying membership of the guild .

In 1904 Ebeling negotiated with the director of the then Prussian Provincial Museum in Hanover about a job as a restorer for the museum's collections. Negotiations were broken off due to insufficient pay. Instead of Ebeling, the painter Rudolf Schiele then took the job.

In 1931 Ebeling described himself as a “church painter, restorer and conservator of colored art monuments”.
