history

The listed crematorium on the Plauen main cemetery.

Reusa was mentioned in a document as Rusan in 1368 , and Sorga followed under this name in 1750. Reusa was an estate, and Sorga was a row of houses in the block corridor . Reusa and Sorga belonged to the Plauen office until the 19th century . Both places together with Kleinfriesen and Tauschwitz formed a rural community. The community later belonged to the administrative authority of Plauen and was incorporated into the city of Plauen in 1903 , shortly before this city became a major city .

The manor was located on the site of today's industrial park and next to it, in a park, was Reusa Castle, which was demolished in 1918 due to construction defects. At the turn of the 20th century, the city hospital was opened, which has been expanded since then and now operates under the name of Helios Vogtland Klinikum Plauen .

The 37 hectare main cemetery was built from 1912 to 1918 and in 1921 the district was connected to the Plauen tram network .
