Rudinka (Hungarian Kisrudas - until 1907 Kisrudina ) is a municipality in northwest Slovakia with 392 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is located in Okres Kysucké Nové Mesto , a district of the Žilinský kraj , and at the same time in the traditional Kysuce landscape .

geography

The municipality is located between the Javorníky Mountains and the Kysucká vrchovina mountains , immediately north of a narrowing of the Kysuca Valley, which is called Kysucká brána . The Rudinka flowing through the village flows into the Kysuca as its left bank tributary. The center of the village is at an altitude of 350  m nm and is four and a half kilometers from Kysucké Nové Mesto and eight kilometers from Žilina .

Neighboring municipalities are Rudina in the north, Kysucké Nové Mesto in the northeast, Žilina (districts Brodno and Vranie ) in the east and south and Divina in the west.

history

Rudinka was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1506 as Minor Rudina and originated in the municipality of the already existing place Rudina. The property was divided between the Budatín territory and various noble families. In 1720 the village had a farm, in 1784 the village had 27 houses and 154 inhabitants who were employed as foresters, farmers and cattle keepers.

After 1907 Rudinka was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Rudinka, but in 1950 regained independence.

Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

population

According to the 2011 census, 386 people lived in Rudinka, 365 of them Slovaks and one Czech . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and 19 residents gave no information about the ethnic group .

276 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, two residents each to the Evangelical Church AB and the Orthodox Church and one resident each to the Greek Catholic Church and the Reformed Church. 44 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination was not determined for 60 inhabitants.
