history
The place arose around a station opened in 1896 on the railway line from Kawkasskaya (in today's Kropotkin ) to Krasnodar for Stanitsa Roshdestvenskaya, 6 km south . Their name is derived from the Russian Roshdestwo (Christowo) for Christmas , literally (Christ) birth , the station and today's place name therefore probably from the Ukrainian term Risdwo; Until well into the 20th century, a significant part of the Cossacks settling in the region spoke Ukrainian.
The place gained importance with the establishment of a workers' settlement on August 16, 1946, which officially received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1960.
