Saavedra (Buenos Aires)
Saavedra is a district on the northern outskirts of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires . It has 51,723 inhabitants (as of 2001) on an area of 5.9 km² . The population density is 8,767 inhabitants per km². Saavedra is one of the less populated districts (the average in Buenos Aires is 15,200 inhabitants / km²)
Saavedra is close to Belgrano and Villa Urquiza . In the north, Saavedra is bounded by Avenida General Paz . The quarter belongs to Comuna C7.

Saavedra was named after Cornelio Saavedra (1759-1829), a key player in the May Revolution , who later also became president.
