The Sammy Baugh Trophy is an award given annually to the best college football passer in the United States . The award is for "Slingin 'Sammy" Baugh named a former quarterback of the Texas Christian University and the Washington Redskins . It has been awarded by the Touchdown Club of Columbus since 1959 . The current winner is Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State University .
Of schools with several winners, Brigham Young University (BYU) leads with seven, followed by Stanford University and Texas Tech University with four different winners.
Baylor's Don Trull and Houston's Case Keenum are the only players to win the award twice.
