The Saskatoon Quakers were a Canadian ice hockey franchise of the Western Hockey League based in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan .

history

The team was founded for the 1951/52 season as a franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League , whose championship they were able to win straight away. The team was named Saskatoon Quakers based on numerous other teams from the city. After the PCHL was replaced by the Western Hockey League for the 1952/53 season , the Quakers joined this and spent another five seasons in the WHL before the franchise was dissolved.

In the 1958/59 season , the Brandon Regals were relocated to Saskatoon and also played as the Saskatoon Quakers before this franchise ceased playing. Later, various amateur teams also used the name Saskatoon Quakers.
