German Chess League 2003/04 (women)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2003/04 season was the 13th season of the Women's Chess League. SK Großlehna , SK Chaos Mannheim and Torgelower SV Greif were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . The three newcomers ended up on the relegation places, but since both SK Turm Emsdetten and SC Meerbauer Kiel withdrew their teams after the season, Großlehna and Mannheim remained first class. The defending champion SC Baden-Oos and SK Turm Emsdetten parted in a direct comparison and defeated all other competitors, so that the decision on the title was only made in a playoff, the SC Baden-Oos with 3.5: 2.5 won.
