Location of Schafsbrücke in Lüdenscheid

Schafsbrücke is the name of a district and lies on the border between the statistical district 14 ( Wehberg ) and the statistical district 06 (Vogelberg) of the district town of Lüdenscheid in the western Sauerland , North Rhine-Westphalia . The urban district and the statistical districts are located in the north of the contiguous urban area.

history

Until the end of the Altenaer Railway in 1961, the district had its own train stop on the route from Lüdenscheid to Altena. The district of Altenaer Eisenbahn contributed significantly to the development of the district.

Originally, the district was heavily industrialized. It was only in the last few decades that residential buildings and shops began to settle here.

The intersection in the Schafsbrücke district is still one of the most important traffic junctions in the city of Lüdenscheid. The intersection became particularly important when the former Rahmedestrasse was relocated and widened. At that time it ran in the area of today's street "Asenberg".

Infrastructure

Discount stores

In 2010 and 2011 the local branch of a discounter was completely demolished and rebuilt. The new building was accompanied by a considerable expansion of the site. The discounter is one of the shopping options for the surrounding districts.

Schafsbrücke eV allotment gardeners association

The Schafsbrücke eV allotment gardeners' association is also located in the district. The gardens have a total area of 29,370 m² and have 61 garden plots (from 300 to 400 m²). The gardeners' association has three playgrounds on its premises for children. The club also has its own club house.

New office and commercial building

In mid-April 2014, the former restaurant at Altenaer Straße 88 (opposite the discounter) was completely demolished. A three-story office and commercial building is to be built on the open space being created there. Up to three units are planned for store use on the ground floor of the building. A total of around 220 square meters will be available here. According to the city of Lüdenscheid's retail concept, no center-relevant assortments should be offered here. According to the city, the shop areas should be suitable for fast food restaurants, service providers or the like.

Areas for practice and office units are to be set up on the two upper floors. A total of around 470 square meters are to be created here. The floors are to be accessed by an attached elevator and stair tower. In order to reduce the noise immission from the traffic, soundproof glass and box window constructions will be installed in the office and practice floors. The new building project is intended to significantly upgrade Altenaer Strasse at this point and make the location even more attractive.
