Schenkenfelden is a place in the Mühlviertel of Upper Austria as well as the capital , locality and cadastral municipality of the market town of Schenkenfelden in the Urfahr-Umgebung district .

geography

The market town of Schenkenfelden is located about 25 kilometers north of the city center of Linz , 10 kilometers west of Freistadt and 7 kilometers southeast of Bad Leonfelden , a few kilometers south of the Czech border. The place is in the Leonfeldner highlands at around 735  m above sea level. A. Height.

The village of Schenkenfelden comprises around 350 buildings with around 1,000 residents, that is 23 of the community's population. The single layer Hammerbichl to the east and the Kalvarienberg to the north also belong to the local area .

The cadastral area with 824.23  hectares extends about 5 km from Hirtstein  ( 844  m above sea level ) in the north to behind the Sauberg  ( 784  m above sea level ) in the south, and just under 4 km from Bucheck  ( 776  m above sea level). A. ) and Bannholz in the west to Hammerbichl  ( 786  m above sea level ) in the east. The Kettenbach flows through the place , which does not flow south to the Danube , as is usual in the Mühlviertel , but rather north to the Vltava River to the Czech Republic, the place is therefore north of the European watershed and belongs to the Elbe catchment area .

The streets run in a star shape from the region, South-North runs the L1489  Schenkenfeldener road (L1498 in Reichenau - B38 in front King impact ) eastward, the L1499  Tischberger road (about Table Mountain for the L1498 in Hirschbach ). The other roads are municipal roads and goods roads.

Schenkenfelden wind farm

Northeast of the town lies on Bucheck the wind farm Schenkenfelden . It comprises 2  wind turbines of the type NEG Micon  M1800-600 / 48, each with a nominal output of 0.6  MW , a hub height of 48 m and a rotor diameter of 60 m. The turbines went into operation in September 1998 (as the third wind farm in Upper Austria). They are operated by Future Energy GmbH, which belongs to Salzburg AG . The wind turbines can produce electricity at wind speeds between 3 and 20 m / s (11 and 70 km / h), the nominal output is 13 m / s (46 km / h, fresh to strong wind ). The annual output is around 1.8 million  kWh (annual requirement of around 470 households, around 600,000  liters of heating oil ).

Another wind farm is being discussed on Steinberg im Königschlag (4–6 current turbines, towers almost twice as high, with three times the output per turbine). In addition, the priority zone Hirschbach in the Mühlkreis was identified with the Wind Master Plan Upper Austria  2011 near Lichtenstein , another priority zone is Großtraberg in the Brunnwald to the west.

Schenkenfelden biomass power plant

Since 1999, a biomass - heating plant into operation. The small power plant has 2 boilers with an output of 1,100 and 850 kW and produces local heating (heating and hot water) for around 60 buildings in the town center.
