Waldershof Castle
The listed Waldershof Castle is located in the Upper Palatinate municipality of Waldershof in the Tirschenreuth district (Schloßweg 1 and 3).
history
The Landgraves of Leuchtenberg donated the original castle to the Waldsassen monastery in 1263 . The complex has been described several times as a Ganerbeburg . The abbots of Waldsassen accepted claims from Friedrich von Waldershof in 1280 and from Friedrich Freiterspeck von Bibra in 1335 . In the following years the castle was u. a. pledged to the von Hirschberg family . In 1471 the castle was expanded. Until the secularization of 1803, the castle was a judge's apartment.
