Oberschönreuth Castle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The expired Oberschönreuth Castle was located in the district of the same name in the Upper Palatinate town of Kemnath in the Tirschenreuth district (today Schönreuth 6 and 7).

history

If one assumes that the Waldecker Burghut is identical to the Oberschönreuth Castle, then according to the fief book of the Leuchtenbergers before 1400 a Nykel Eyse von Waldekk resides here, who owns the third tail of the toe to Schonrewt . In 1396 it was one of the goods that were awarded to Ulrich Bärnklau . Until 1518 the Bärnklaus are mentioned in the Landsassenmatrikel . Then Georg (Jorig) sold Bärnklau the Elder. J. the new seat to Jörig Löneiß , who was already co-owner of Schloss Unterschönreuth on his marriage . Bernhard Löneiß acquires the other goods at Schönreuth from Neidhart Bärnklau and forms the Schönreuth estate from them. 1676 are Löneiß extinct and the feud is home like . It was then given to von Müller (1676), von Zedwitz (1696), von Fischbach (1716), von Mosern (1747) and in 1790 to von Cammerloh .

location

Until 1819 the castle was in the middle of the town of Schönreuth (today house numbers 6 and 7). In 1694 a fire destroyed the castle and it was then rebuilt as an economic courtyard. In 1792 it is called the old castle . After the village fire on August 2, 1819, it was never rebuilt.
